FAQ

Are camps/clubs age specific?

Generally groups are split into age groups of similar ages where possible. Where this is not possible or necessary, coaches ensure that children are tasked with age and task appropriate challenges to ensure development and safety. We also understand that some children may physically or mentally mature at different stages therefore children can be challenged or grouped accordingly for greater enjoyment, challenge and development.

Do you take childcare vouchers?

Unfortunately we do not take childcare vouchers.

Are you Ofsted registered?

We are  not Ofsted registered, as this is not a requirement for running sport related services. However, we understand that peace of mind is important therefore ensure coaches, where necessary, have a valid DBS, are suitably qualified, first aid trained and have relevant safeguarding knowledge.

Upon booking, information regarding allergies are expected to be noted. We then take extreme care to ensure any allergies are dealt with appropriately through liaising with parents/carers. We also operate a no nut policy for all our services.

For camp, yes, your child will need to be provided with a healthy and adequate lunch, snacks for two breaks and hydration. Water will be available from water fountains and although snacks will be made at camp, these should not be utilised as a snack as they may not always be consumed at camp. For clubs no lunch will be required.

As a sports camp/club it is advised that clothing that is not too restrictive is worn. Ideally, shorts (not jean shorts) or tracksuit bottoms, t-shirts and jumpers and trainers. No open toed shoes are advised for safety purposes.

My child is not very competitive, will they enjoy camp/club?

Although competition is encouraged, it is not always about being better than or competing with someone else. Often, it is about improving ones score, time etc. Therefore, your child will thoroughly enjoy the challenge of self-improvement and the other many non-competitive aspects of just learning and developing new skills, games and friendships!

My child gets shy/nervous in new environments, will they be okay?

Camps/clubs welcome everyone and attempt to settle them in as best as possible. Therefore, we operate a buddy system where other children will choose or be chosen to be a buddy to help settle in any shy/nervous children. From experience, they will feel like they have been at the camp/club many times before after the first twenty minutes!

All of our coaches are DBS checked, where appropriate, and qualified sports coaches some of which have coached up to National standard. Some are physical education teachers and have also participated at County and some at National standard.
